Bookbinding Workshop

Over the weekend I took part in a bookbinding workshop in conjunction with Read That Image, during which we were taught two binding techniques: the Singer stitch and Japanese stab binding.

Taking part felt like affirmation that I was moving in the right direction creatively, learning new skills which will enable me to incorporate tangible elements to my art and writing. I made a notebook and a sketchpad, and am really excited to incorporate this in zine making going forward!

About Read That Image:

Read That Image is a collaborative group of photographers, editors, designers and visual artists that has emerged as a response to the current state of the Photobook industry; we recognize the difficulties that young and emerging artists encounter when trying to make photobooks and get their work published. It is these barriers that we want to do away with, and to replace the old redundant practices with a new more open affiliation between artists and publishers.
